Breakfast was never this good!!!

One the trip, breakfast was included!  Beverages, fresh fruits...

more fruits and bowls of yogart!

and more, all fresh as can be!

There's the chef!  He would cook an omelet for you if you just couldn't find enough to eat....I didn't get a pictures of all the hot stuff because they were in covered pans.  they also had a section of sliced meats and smoked salmon!  Yumm.

Butter, cheese, tomatoes..

AND DESSERTS!!!!!  10 of them!  And they were all good!

Chocolate and apple stuffed.

Strudle, cakes... omg.

Then all the breads and rolls.  Bread over there is not as sweet, and is much denser.  So it's almost like eating a meat.

Ok, there's my dessert after all the fruit and yogart.

AND, Terry found a fabric shop for me!!!

It was full up to the ceiling!

It didn't open until 9am, and that's when we took off driving.  So the tour guides said I could have 1/2 hour to shop.... that was more than enough.  I did get ONE piece of fabric that was so different....

Just loved all that was in there.

See!  Up to the ceiling!

And stacked everywhere.

Ah...back to the planet.  This was a beautiful road that we always left the hotel.  So many views that I don't want to forget.
So when you are on vacation, do you try to memorize the things you see, or do you rely on pictures?  I got a bunch of postcards and booklets about things.  Pictures are great... and now I will have to make a quilt with the lastest piece of fabric.... I'll show it tomorrow!
Meanwhile another person called to come and bring me a quilt to work on.  I have 6 large ones and a small kit to do here....and then my stuff!  Not happy about my time management.
How do you find time to work?  I gave up cooking and cleaning several years ago.  The bushes are overgrown and I have to hack those back.  I just want to quilt!

First I finished up a couple of things....

Before I left for the trip, I came across several things that had been on the table waiting for over a year to be done.... Got the top sewn together.

Got this made up for a nighty.  Soft knit is so comfy to sleep in.

This red shirt has a skirt to go with it.  Now I don't remember if I got that done too.....

Enid's sister, Margaret, in England, makes quilts too!  This was wonderful.  So she gave me as much of her templates as she could find.  I love the little animals all in beds!  Each one has something different with them.

12 blocks make this up.  I may only do a couple of the blocks.  I just don't have enough time to do everything I have in here!!!

Love the bright colors in this.

Cow drinking milk before sleeping.

And the pig with the flashlight for safety.
I'm really trying to get back to routine.  Just not happening.  Well, not yet.  Woke up at 4am and couldn't get back to sleep, so Terry and I got up at 5am.... We are about 5 hours off.  I keep going to clear off my table tops and I stop and look at all the things I got over there in England.
I need a vacation to get over the vacation.

I"ve been to England!

I'm BACK!  Just over 3 weeks of traveling.  It was super!  We went to visit Terry's Mum in north east England.  These are the names of 4 little villages over there!  It's Barnard Castle.  The castle there is falling down.  The town now goes by that name.

Love the little country roads.!  We went walking down this one!

There's Terry out on our walk!

View of Ingleton from afar.

and alittle closer to the back side of it.

We went past this farm!  The pigs were friendly...

free range chickens were curious...

Horse could care less.

Cows were wondering...

This is Margaret and Enid...sisters!  Margaret quilts, so we were sharing a quilt design and talking about quilting things!    Great to see both of them!  Enid is Terry's Mum.

This is the biggest mall in all of England, in Newcastle.  So we had to go have a look around.  Much like American malls.  Unfortunately, they are now running in to the same problems that malls have caused over there.  The small town centers are closing up when the big malls open.

Sheep are skiddish... they don't like you getting close.

Ah!  Raby castle!  My favorite castle.  I hadn't been able to go see it the last couple of times I have been over there!  I go into this place, and it just seems so familiar.

We could take pictures outside, but not inside.

So I took a bunch.

Just love the fact that it would take about 10 years to add on to the castle.  Walls are 8 to 12 feet thick.  That's a lot of stone!

Pretty cool....

One of the massive front doors.

This was going out of the main entrance of the wall.  Most of the outer wall has been taken down for better views.

Enid at home!  We had the best time over there!!!  Lots of laughing and seeing friends.  She was our "social secretary" and set up when we could meet with people.  It was great!
I didn't say that I was going anywhere before the trip.  Just heard too much stuff about what could happen if you make that known.  So I'm back with several hundred pictures of things.  We were in England for 10 days, then in Germany and Italy for about 9 days on a tour!  We drove Porsches through the mountains into Italy!!!
Terry and I agreed that this was the best trip EVER for us to have taken together!  If you ever get a chance to take a tour with Porsche....DO IT!!!  It is worth every penny.  We would drive for hours, stop and have a 2 hour lunch.  It included several courses of spectacular food.  Then drive for several more hours and have a 3 hour dinner!  I could get so used to that!  Will be hard to go back to microwave meals.... done in minutes and eaten in less.
Plenty to share, but the laundry is calling my name!  will show more in the weeks to come!
