This is the latest quilt that I'm working on.  It's all hand sewn.  But it's not big enough.  There are many more of the "flower" sections, so I'm adding a row around the whole thing.

One corner had 3 sticking out funny, so I took them off and sewed them where they seemed to be needed the most.

There's no more green that goes inbetween the flowers, so I'm going to cut out muslin hexes and put them in.  Then add long wider borders by appliqueing the top onto the  border.

This is the corner that got the other 3 pieces.

And here is a baby dragon with his bottle of tabasco!  I'm finding dragons all over the place.  Got several other things on vacation with dragons on them.  It is just fun.  Isn't that what is the most important!
I have been clearing out my clothes from the closet and the drawers.  If we are going to remodel the bedrooms, then there is a ton of stuff that needs to be gone through and weed it out!  Starting with my own junk.... so I can foresee a yard sale.  Yuck.  I love going to them but hate doing them.  I have furniture to go, dishes, blankets, and things like that.  NO SEWING stuff... well, one foot petal sewing machine.  A White brand one.

Love the coast of NH!  Was trying to get the wave splashing the rocks.  Colors were great.

This is inside of the gazebo in Exeder.  The ceiling had this,

The vines were so beautiful.  All mosaic tiles.

And this is the floor with the metal circle with the signs of the zodiac.  So well done and creative.

More of the tile work.

And you can see the zodiac better here.

There were gazebos every where!  This was in Miller Crossing next to a pond and waterfall going over a small dam.

The river "split" and went around the small island with the bridge going over to it.  Island is on the left.  It was so peaceful there!
I love New England (in the summer).  I won't be up there in the winter unless I absolutely have to.
I have 2 more quilt tops come in this week for work.  So I'm back to working on others things and loving it.  Vacations are sooooo necessary.  I'm finding it hard to get back to my routine.  I seem to have put it out of my head completely when I was gone.  So I'll have to work up a new routine and change the old one!  Sounds good to me!!!
Norris quilt guild had their meeting yesterday.  They are getting ready for their quilt show on the 4th of July!!!  Y'all come see!  It's one day only in Norris.  All of Norris turns into a Norman Rockwell painting!  They have bike races for kids and the kids decorate their bikes for the 4th.  There are the scouts out and bake sales.  There is a big slip and slide set up on the hill, so wear your bathing suits if you want!
The quilt show is pretty GOOD!  It's worth coming on down to see it.  They do a bed turning and show some other quilts too and tell the stories of them.  They will have a display of needle cases and pincushions.  It's viewer's choice and there will be a door prize.  So come and see this great show.

Here's Phil and Laura!  It's his birthday, so we went so he could have lobster.  Was right on the water...

Looking through the window, there's the dock.

Laura and I drove down the coast one day, and saw the ocean.  I love the water.

They don't have a sandy beach here.  But very rocky.

Their house is looking really nice on the outside now.  Laura has been working on the gardens and moving rocks around.

It's been very dry up there, but the hostas are doing well.

The boat is not theirs.  The VW was our parents' car for 30 odd years.  Laur had that wall built and she did the plantings.

This little flower moved in on the wind.  It's all over the place.  I brought back some seeds.  But have to be careful or else it'll blow around and grow anywhere.

Forget what this is called, but looked like apple blossoms.  Only it was a bush.
Had a great time up there.  Will put up more pictures tomorrow.  Trying to get back to a routine.  I'm ready for that.  Laura gave me 2 massages while I was up there.  We need to live closer together!
And now back to reality....

I'm back!  The car is empty and the washer is full.  Had a great time at my sister's house.  Plenty of new fabric and clothes to wash up.... oh yea.  I got goodies from antique shops that are old sewing things.  I love sock darners and I found a couple.  Pictures tomorrow once it feels like the car has stopped.  I drove 12 hours yesterday, and 8 today to get back.  Tiring to say the least.  10 police cars in Virginia alone!  They sure were on patrol.  Traffic wasn't bad.  So if you are going to travel, do it Tuesday through Thursday.  Less traffic, and the cost of a hotel room is smaller also.

Did work on my Hawaiian applique one day when my sister and her hubby went to her 40th reunion.  Had the house to myself, so I didn't feel guilty about sitting there working.  We did spend a couple of days trying to clear out and organize her stuff upstairs.  Boxes went out, things got sorted!  She found stuff that she had been looking for for 2 years.  Then we found a box with all the receipts and check book stubs from 1992 to 1997.... and shredded them....and shredded, and shredded!  So the recycle pile was emormous!  And it's gone!  Even her hubby went through 2 boxes of his old magazines...and some went out.

So back to my house and ready to get into the quilting room...first I'll order pizza to be delivered...Terry is on his way home from the rig.  He'll be landing in about 1/2 hour.  So we'll both be home at the same time!  He was home almost the whole time I was gone!  But don't worry, they let hubbies into Kroger now without checking ID's....

Heading out tomorrow!  Leaving Terry at home.  He's not used to being the one at home by himself!  It'll be ok...until the food runs out!  They do let husbands into Kroger now without checking ID's.

It's a 2 day drive for me to get to my sister's house.  We have such a good time together, that I do this once a year.  I skipped one year and we both felt terrible!   So you have to go see some people on a regular basis!!!

It was super fun having Candace up here!   Plenty to go do and see.  We did an 800 mile round trip to Athens, Ohio, to go see the Dairy Barn's next quilt exhibit.  Well worth the trip to see them up close.  The techniques are super!!!  So I have more to work on and ideas spilling over in the sewing room.  Not enough time to keep up with things for sure!  I have one in the frame that I have been working on.  Not even half done, but if you don't keep at them, they never get done.  Mine don't always start out with something in mind.  I love to work without a plan...and see what happens!  Quilt as you go!

So keep quilting and I'll see if I can get on the blog while I'm out of town.  I'll have plenty of pictures when I get back!  And some more fabric!!!
